Coverage in the sampled feeds
How coverage is measured
Matches use candidate names or an explicit race reference in the headline. The recent window compares the latest complete 24 hours in the sampled feeds with the preceding 24 hours. A spike flag requires at least three recent matches and at least double the previous count. Counts are links published by the selected sources, with duplicate URLs removed. They describe this feed sample. A missing window means the feeds are unavailable, stale, or too short to support the comparison.
The post-election comparison uses 6 p.m. ET on Election Day as a fixed reference point. It compares the first 24 hours after that point with the previous 24 hours. Poll closing times vary by state.
